Troubleshooting Beneficiary Errors

Please use the tutorial below to troubleshoot the most common errors related to beneficiaries that users experience. For more information on Beneficiary Templates, please refer to this article- FXpert Guide: Beneficiary Templates


Error 1

I can't approve an instruction

If you see there is an instruction to approve, but the Approve button is grey, hover over the button to see the error. In this case, it shows that the Beneficiary must be approved: 



If you navigate to Beneficiary Approval, you can select Approve:


Then you can navigate back to Instruction Approval, and the Approve button will be green:


Error 2

I can't find the beneficiary I want in Add Instruction: Currency Mismatch

If you are searching for the beneficiary in the drop down menu, but it's not populating, check to see if you can find the beneficiary in Beneficiary Maintenance:  



In this case, the beneficiary was found in Beneficiary Maintenance, however the currency of the beneficiary is EUR, whereas the BUY currency (Original Amount) for the contract is USD. Only USD beneficiaries are searchable in the drop down menu for this contract. To remedy the problem, either the contract currency, or the beneficiary currency will need to be changed to attach these instructions. 



If you believe you have booked a contract as with the wrong BUY currency, and you would like to change it to a different currency, please contact your Account Executive(s), Client Experience, or contact mysupport@gpsfx.com.


Error 3

I can't find the beneficiary I want in Add Instruction: Payment Type Mismatch

If the currencies on the contract and template match, but you still can't find the beneficiary you seek in Add Instruction, there could be a mismatch payment type. Most contracts are booked as Wire payments, but sometimes users select Draft when they meant to select Wire. This is done on the contract booking page:



If your contract is booked as Draft, you will only be able to attach beneficiaries created as Draft payment types. You can check your beneficiary's payment type under Beneficiary Maintenance. On the left side, you will see a drop down menu called Type. Here you can select Wire or Draft. Most beneficiary templates are saved as Wire as displayed below:

 



If you believe you have booked a contract as Draft in error, and you would like to change the payment type, please contact your Account Executive(s), Client Experience, or contact mysupport@gpsfx.com.
